If you are someone who does not have a Grade 12 Diploma and/or a Valid G License, but you have always wanted to get on with the City of Kenora, then this position could be for you The Labourer Helper will support the Harbourtown Labourer in cleaning and maintaining the downtown core by performing a variety of laboring tasks including snow removal, mowing, trimming, shoveling, gardening, etc. The Harbourtown Labourer Helper may occasionally assist with work as required at sites such as cemetery, parks, open spaces, ball fields, arenas, docks, etc.

Qualifications:

- Ability to perform manual labour for extended periods of time as required by work assignments
- Must have ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Interest in Grounds Maintenance and general horticulture knowledge would be considered an asset
- Ability to use and care for a variety of hand and power tools necessary to perform park maintenance, flower bed and shrub bed maintenance and urban forestry
- Must be willing to acquire mandatory legislative certifications as required
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must be physically fit and able lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and or walk for long periods of time
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
