We are united by our shared value to serve a bigger purpose than ourselves. **Role Expectations & Summary**: Our Individuals living at Acadia are looking for Community Support Worker for their daily needs. The expected diagnoses for the Individual are Autism, ADHD and OCD.. A behavioural support plan will be provided to advance and achieve Individuals' goals. The position requires to support Individuals transportation, personal care, attending medical appointment, and interacting in swimming pools. We will require someone who may have past experience with advance communication software and/or tools to converse with our Individuals. There will be other expectations such as hygiene routines, personal care meal preparation, daily house chores, and medication administration. Driving is a requirement for this position so you must be comfortable driving in all quadrants of Calgary. **About You**: - You are patient and understanding about the needs of people with disabilities - You are comfortable with providing full personal care, participating in social and recreational activities such as swimming, and advocating for the Individual in the community - You can suggest different communication strategies for our non-verbal Individuals - You have a past experience with social stories - You have a good understanding and relevant experience with sensory integration and its strategies to prevent harm - You can encourage healthy living style & advance social interactions for our Individuals - You are willing to follow agency's policies and procedures - You are willing to take the time to understand and know your Individual and act/respond in their best interest, while maintaining professional boundaries - You are willing to research, develop, and implement programs to provide for growth the Individual - You can easily manage administrative work to create reports regarding Individuals' behaviours and actions **Schedule & Benefits**: This temporary position is30 hours/week in our "Acadia" group home, which is in South East area of Calgary. The schedule will be from Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 0700-1500 every week and rotating on/off on Thursday, 0700-1900 (12hrs) every other week. Which will average to 30hrs/per week. The starting pay rate for this position will be $21.19. After three months probationary period, you will be eligible for health and dental benefits along with 5 flex days after the six months of employment. **Minimum Requirements**: - Minimum of a Diploma in the Human Services sector or Disability Sector - Must provide valid class 5 drivers license and have a reliable vehicle with minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance - Intermediate in computer skills and administration skills - Provide medical, technological, environmental, physical, and behavioural support - Minimum required training in Emergency First Aid & CPR Level A **Preferred Requirements**: - Past experience with ADHD, OCD, and Autism will be an asset. - One to two years relevant experience in the human services field would be an asset. - Previously trained and have the knowledge of medication administration. - Relevant trainings such as Non-violent Crises Intervention, Abuse Prevention Response. Protocol, and Positive Behavior Supports, etc. - Additional training requirements upon hiring would be Trauma Informed Care, Naloxone, Mental Health First Aid. **Covid-19 Vaccination Policy**: New Age Services Inc.
