CA - Onsite - Regular Community Disability Practitioner New Age Services Inc. functions as a non-profit organization established in January 1991 with the aim to provide programs and resources for individuals with developmental disabilities in the Calgary Region. Our Services are highly individualized and tailored to the needs of each individual. We ensure client needs are met through a strong team approach where the client, guardian, frontline and management staff work together as partners. **What to expect in the role**: You will be working with a team in our "Community Access" program. On this team you will be supporting a variety of individuals and could be working out in the community, in their homes, or in our main facility in the NE. Individuals you support may have diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, or other Mental Illness or developmental disorders. You will follow the individualized support plans for each individual to help them work towards and achieve their goals. Supporting an individual with different diagnosis, take them to medical appointments, pickup from home in southern Calgary with willingness to drive to different quadrants. **Schedule & Compensation**: This position is based at our main facilities Calgary North East and is a permanent role offering 30 hours per week. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Since driving is required for this position, we reimburse mileage at $0.65/km. The starting pay rate for this position is $21.19 per hour. This role includes 4%vacation pay plus an additional 5flex days per year after the first 3 months of employment. All regular staff are eligible to pick up additional casual hours at any of our locations outside of their scheduled hours. **Minimum Requirements**: - Minimum of a Canadian Certificate/Diploma in the Human Services or Disability sector (equivalencies will be considered) - Intermediate computer skills and MS Office proficiency - Valid class 5 driver’s license and a reliable vehicle, with minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance by time of hire - Must be comfortable supporting individuals in a swimming pool - Comfortable supporting Individuals with diverse disabilities and complex diagnoses **Preferred Requirements**: - One-year relevant experience in the human services field and/or prior experience in a fast-paced day program/outreach is preferred - Previous experience with Autism, seizures, OCD, aggression, harm reduction, variety of diagnosis - Previous work experience in a group home would be an asset - Having a medical background - whether professional or academic - Current trainings including First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Abuse Prevention Response Protocol, Positive Behaviour Supports, etc.
