The Advocacy Coordinator is an integral part of the advocacy efforts of Hillel Montreal, with a primary focus on collaboration and coordination of the various advocacy organizations on university campuses. As an integral member of the team, the Advocacy Associate will work with the Manager of Advocacy, the campus team, and the various advocacy organization, both proactively and reactively, on advocacy-related issues on Montreal’s university and college campuses.

**Duties**
- Work collaboratively with student leadership, the Manager of Advocacy and on campus advocacy organizations, to create and execute a proactive advocacy strategy.
- Work with and support student leadership, and engagement of broader student community
- Engage Jewish and non-Jewish students and provide support to them in pursuit of their advocacy interests.
- Build and maintain key relationships with various stakeholders and clubs on campus to advance Jewish and Israel advocacy objectives. This includes collaborating with Jewish and/or Israel advocacy organizations, and other potential groups on and off campus.
- Together with student leadership, coordinate and implement an array of programs
- and activities that promote and strengthen Jewish and Israel advocacy on campus. Work collaboratively with Student leaders to ensure that advocacy activities are well coordinated with Hillel’s other activities, and mutually reinforcing.
- Prepare for, and respond effectively and strategically, to anti-Israel and antisemitic incidents on campus, in collaboration with Hillel’s partners.

**Education, Knowledge and Skills**
- Undergraduate degree
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills and the desire to work in a collaborative, team environment.
- Ability to build effective and meaningful relationships with staff, university students, and community members.
- Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot effectively, and react thoughtfully and
- strategically to situations as they arise. Maintain clear thinking and calm during times of crisis.
- Demonstrated involvement in student government, political organizing or active
- engagement in campus life, with an understanding and appreciation for campus
- dynamics.
- Strong, sophisticated written and verbal communication skills and social media savvy.
- Passion for Israel, high-energy, versatility and maturity.
- Availability to work variable hours to meet student needs
