Our culinary team at Alforno is looking for bread bakers to join them in creating awesome food. If you enjoy working in a team atmosphere with a focus on great food and service, this role is for you. Joining our team at Alforno Bakery & Cafe will have you working alongside industry leaders dedicated to service and quality within Teatro Group. Teatro Restaurant Group has strived to provide the highest level of distinctive and memorable dining experiences. Our family of restaurants all adhere to the same philosophy: we are meticulous in sourcing out the finest ingredients possible for our guests, delivering incredible food with service that is attentive, sincere and focused on details.

Baker is responsible for working in conjunction with the pastry team to produce superior quality baked goods in sufficient quantities to meet the demands of the guests for each meal produced. The Baker reports directly to the Lead Baker and Executive Chef but also takes direction from the pastry sous chef and other team members. All goods produced must meet the high standards of Teatro Restaurant Group and all food safety guidelines.

What you will do as a Baker:

- Ongoing communication with Lead Baker to discuss preparation of all baked items.
- Preparing dough from scratch.
- Scaling ingredients.
- Daily production, handling, storage, rotation and service of all bread items for Teatro Group.
- Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of all goods
- Ensure quality, consistency, taste and presentation of all bread products meet Teatro Group standards.
- Monitor waste using the current waste tracking system.
- Ensure that food spoilage and waste are kept to a minimum.
- Assist Kitchen team as required.
- Ensure cleanliness of the bake shop area, including storage areas, refrigerators/freezers and all equipment.
- Maintain personal cleanliness throughout shift.
- Ensure consistent food preparation and the highest calibre of food presentation, taking advantage of all opportunities to improve on both.

What we are looking for
- Minimum 1 - 2 years of kitchen experience preferred.
- Sound knowledge of preparing baked goods.
- Operate all kitchen appliances (mixer, proofer, dough divider, oven...)
- Ability to work supervised or unsupervised
- Sound knowledge of current sanitation processes
- Highly effective teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
