**The opportunity**:
Under the general direction of the Business Manager, CLSP the Classroom Technician is responsible to review schedules and room bookings, set-up classrooms, maintain equipment and inventory, and assist with purchasing and inventory management. This position is a direct support for Undergraduate Medical Education and Clinical Learning and Simulation and will be part of a highly skilled team of Administrators and Simulation Technicians.
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:
- High school completion with job-related options working and maintaining equipment and classrooms/labs.
- Some post-secondary education is preferred.
- Healthcare terminology or background considered and asset.
- Experience with ordering and maintaining supplies and inventory management considered an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Capability of learning and mastering new techniques is required.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team is required.
- Ability to train staff and students in techniques used in the workplace is required.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions is required.
- Must be able to communicate and relate well with staff, students, organizers of functions and the public is required.
- Must have good organizational skills with the ability to multitask is required.
- Must have exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks is required.
- Must be willing to work any of day, afternoon, or weekend shifts is required.
- High degree of manual dexterity is required.
- Must have problem solving skills to deal with last-minute issues that may arise as required.
- Must be physically able to perform duties described (heavy lifting, moving, stretching, and considerable walking) required.
- No allergies or sensitivities to scents is required.
- Physically capable of performing the duties assigned, which may include mobility and/or moderate to heavy lifting is required.
- A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
- Self-motivated to seek continuous improvements to personal development and programming processes.
- Experience with Scheduling Software is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with University Policies and Procedures an asset.
- Knowledge of WHIMIS is an asset.
- Ability to service and maintain basic medical equipment and AV equipment preferred.
