We are looking for a dynamic Financial Analyst to contribute to our Finance Business Partners team. As a Financial Analyst at Ballard Power Systems, you will play a crucial role in providing actionable insights, financial planning, and strategic support to various business units. With a focus on accuracy and attention to detail, you will analyze financial data, assess performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive critical business decisions and strategy. The position reports to the Manager, Finance Business Partners within the broader Corporate Finance and Strategy team and has the following responsibilities and requirements:
**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with business units to develop and maintain financial forecasts, to drive informed decisions and understanding of the financial implications of strategies.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, opportunities, and risks to provide recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive financial analysis and presentations for management, highlighting key findings and insights.
- Participate in ad hoc financial projects to drive process improvement and enhance business performance as assigned by management.
- Collaborate with the Commercial team to optimize pricing strategies and evaluate the financial impact of sales, service agreements and commercial contracts.
- Identify areas of process improvement within the Finance Business Partners team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes.
- Support development and reporting of corporate financial modelling inputs, including working with cross-functional VPs to develop short and long-range forecasts.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or a related field
- 1-5 years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to identify trends and key strategic insights to inform and influence executive decisions
