The County of Elgin, Homes and Senior Services has an exciting career opportunity for a Temporary Full-time Manager of Program and Therapy Services.
**Summary of Position**:
Reporting to the Administrator, the Manager of Program and Therapy Services is responsible for the management and supervision of the Recreation and therapy departments (hair salon, volunteer services, adult day, exercise programs, etc.).
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop activities promoting diversity and inclusion in recreational and therapeutic programs.
- Engage resident and family council in the development of recreation and social activities.
- Lead the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Manage recreational services to ensure that goals and objectives are met.
- Monitor quality improvement through risk management and regular assessments.
- Facilitate and promote staff development, ongoing education and new employee orientation.
- Manage staffing levels through effective recruitment and promoting retention.
- Monitor staff performance by completing regular performance evaluation.
- Oversee the annual departmental budget by closely monitoring expenditures.
- Manage the Homes volunteer program with recruitment, onboarding and training.
- Supervise all staff including educational placements and volunteers.
- Coordination of religious/spiritual care and services program

**Qualifications**:

- Degree/diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies or related discipline and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a geriatric environment, long-term care
- One to two (1-2) years of supervisory experience
- Must be flexible, innovative, creative with a willingness for continuing education.
- Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including oral and written communication
- Competent using MS Office, social media platforms, statistical software and Point Click Care
- Knowledge of Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021; and ON Reg 246/22 an asset.
- Volunteer management and/or experience would be an asset.

**Remuneration**: $43.89 to $51.35 per hour
**Effective**: December 16, 2024
