Position: Prep Cook

Reports To: Executive Chef and Sous Chefs

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs, the prep cook plays a critical role in preparing the ingredients that compose our dishes and recipes. The prep cook will contribute to providing an unforgettable dining experience that embodies the unique Hard Rock culture. This role will include a variety of responsibilities and working in multiple kitchens at times, which includes Sessions Restaurant, Pools, GMT -5, In-Room Dining, and 1913 Speakeasy.

Hours of Work:
This is an Fulltime, hourly position, working morning shifts.

Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):
This position is for a passionate individual with a strong desire to learn and grow their culinary career. Preparing multiple ingredients across different outlets, the Prep Cook will be responsible for taking direction and mentorship from the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs and will be operating a variety of different cooking techniques, preparation, recipes, and the use of different equipment. As a Prep Cook, the care you devote to food and workspace preparation will result in the creation of a truly spectacular fare.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Ensure that your overall appearance and uniform are kept neat and clean at all times
- Assist in the preparation of all items required for the food service outlets within the hotel
- Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
- Have the ability to follow daily prep lists and par lists and the ability to organize your time according to the work required
- The ability to read and follow written recipes and to execute them to set standards
- Be held accountable for all kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in the culinary field required
- Diploma Certification in a Culinary discipline is strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible, reliable and punctual
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteous
- Ability to receive feedback positively and adjust as necessary

Physical Aspects of Position (including, but are not limited to):

- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
