Snow Plow

**CASUAL - ON CALL**

**SNOW PLOW OPERATOR / V-PLOW OPERATOR**

**Basic/Required Qualification**:

- _**Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (required).**_
- _**Vehicle is preferred/ Calgary Transit does not operate past Midnight. **_
- _**Familiar with V-Plow equipment or Skid Steer Operator.**_
- _**Cell phones with data are required.**_
- Working knowledge of all common power and hand tools that are relative to snow removal and landscape maintenance
- Ability to maintain straightforward records and make verbal reports
- Interpersonal skills and good communication with the ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
- Strong adherence to Springer Landscape Services safety policies and protocol
- _**Legally authorized to work in Canada**_

**Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrating safety in leadership and safe work practices at all times
- Work in accordance with Springer Landscape Services Ltd. policies and procedures as well as an interest in learning new things.
- Providing exceptional customer service & client experiences
- Punctuality
- Be prepared to respond to emergency calls for snow removal
- Work Independently & following instructions well
- Positive attitude and work well in a team environment

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Previous experience operating truck with plow or skid steer to clear lots
- _**Valid Class 5 license (required)**_
- Ability to load, unload and tie down skid steer on a flat deck trailer
- Experience driving truck and trailer while operating in a safe manner
- Previous landscaping, snow removal and/or maintenance experience is an asset
- Ability to take direction, energetic and motivated and works well work in a team environment
- Work independently and attentive to details

**Working Conditions/Physical Demands**:

- Ability to perform moderate to heavy rigorous tasks for extended periods of time
- Working in a variety of outdoor environments with the ability to withstand cold and hot temperatures
- Variables of winter include: Cold weather, freezing temperatures, heavy snow, continual snow fall
- On-call during winter months
- Physically Demanding position & Repetitive Motions
- Significant physical demands include and not not limited to: walking,climbing, stooping, kneeling, standing, lifting.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push and pull weights of up to 50 - 100 lbs
