Quality Control Technician

Purpose

This is to define the duties and responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician.

Work Conditions:
Work hours will be 40 hours per week, 8 hours per shift, including statutory holidays. Occasionally work maybe required outside of “Normal” work hours. The work environment is located on the production floor.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure Health & Safety, Hygiene, & Housekeeping procedures within the workplace
- Ensure Quality Standards are met for all production machines
- Perform scheduled testing and inspection of product
- Advise on Quality control training for all staff
- Operate all site quality testing machinery
- Complete forms and spread sheets pertaining to testing of product
- Inspect samples of raw materials
- Inspect incoming product
- Follow the hold procedure and inspect suspect product, ensure a plan has been implemented to resolve any held production
- Investigate quality complaints using the Customer Complaint procedure, write Quality complaint reports and investigate root cause
- Complete forms pertaining to product holding or customer complaints
- Train employees on quality procedures and policies
- Provide quality documents to operators and technicians for daily use
- Attend meetings where necessary
- Work with production staff to solve quality problems
- Any duties required by the management of the business

Competencies and Qualifications:

- Extremely high level of attention to detail
- Supervisory skills
- Must be able to demonstrate strong, positive customer and people skills
- Must be able to make decisions and carry out the required actions to completion
- Must have good interpersonal skills
- Must be able to communicate in English and French both verbally and written to an advanced level
- Work with others and give directions as required
- An understanding of Quality Control concepts

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
