Families 1st has been operating specialized, community homes in Ontario for many years for adults and children with complex special needs who are often dual diagnosed. We create specialized, individual services that support the independence, inclusion, and dignity of the individuals we service and support.

We are currently seeking a Program Supervisor who will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations and management of one of our residences. The Program Supervisor will have a sound knowledge and understanding of the Families 1st philosophy of care.

Strong supervisory skills along with excellent communication skills to lead and support employees in their roles and day-to-day management of the clients and home are crucial qualifications to be successful in this role. Previous supervisory or management experience is strongly preferred. Flexibility to work alternate shifts (evenings and weekends) as necessary to support staff members is required.

**Program Supervisor responsibilities**:

- Direct, maintain and control the programs and the administrative operations for the residence.
- Comply with all Families 1st policies, procedures and all legislations related to residential services, including those associated with Health and Safety and Abuse Prevention.
- Provide solutions to barriers impacting achieving success in the program, for the staff and clients.
- Submit required receipts, financial statements, census information and requested documentation as required.
- Review schedules monthly to ensure adequate coverage as required for the home.
- Submit and approve time sheets to payroll. Ensure all time sheets are accurate according to the schedule.
- Establish and direct regularly scheduled staff meetings and document them with meeting minutes.
- Review all active/closed files and logs monthly.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of documentation and reports.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and act according to Families 1st Performance Standards, demonstrating respect for all individuals.
- Ensure appropriate confidentiality is maintained for individuals, families and other employees
- Transport clients as required in accordance with Ministry of Transportation and Families 1st policies.
- First on call responsibilities on a rotating basis.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Completion of a Human Services Diploma (Social Service Worker, Developmental Services Worker, or Child and Youth Worker) from a recognized Community College or University and a minimum of 3 years of related experience supporting individuals with Developmental Disabilities
- Current CPR & First Aid certificate
- Knowledge of Safe Management crisis intervention techniques
- Proven experience in managing and training staff teams to achieve a high-performance culture
- Excellent team player who encourages and promotes wellness in others through example and strong leadership skills
- Excellent organizational and documenting skills
- Familiarity with applicable legislation and regulations
- Working knowledge of computers and software such as; Microsoft Word, Excel
- Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to motivate others

**Work Conditions**:

- Occasional shift work as required to support staff on different shifts; including Evenings, Weekends & Holidays.
- Physically capable to engage and carry out physical intervention or containment; obtain and maintain (annual) SMG certification.
- Ability to engage in physical activity as it relates to programming etc.
