Afterschool Program Supervisor

This position is responsible for all functions & operational aspects of BGCB MAJOR BALLACHEY School Age After School Care Program.

Monday - Friday (1:00pm - 5:30pm) - position does not work PA Days, Christmas or March Break

NOTE: Total weekly hours associated with this specific position are 22.5, however there are additional opportunities throughout the organization which could increase total weekly hours to 35 per.

COVID-19 vaccination disclosure required - all employees are required to be fully vaccinated (2 doses mínimal - boosters may be required based on BGCB and/or governing body requirements) or have a medical/religious exemption that is acceptable to BGC Brantford
Strict adherence to Infection Control Policies and Best Practices.

Post Secondary School Graduate in Recreation and Leisure/Child & Youth Worker/Teaching or related discipline at college or university level required

Qualifications:
Current First Aid/CPR

High Five PHCD (an asset)

HIGH FIVE QUEST2 (an asset)

Class F Drivers License (an asset)

Safe Food Handling Certificate

Clean Driver’s Abstract

Access to a reliable vehicle

3-5 years of experience working with a variety of age categories (5-12 years)

Previous experience managing employees and volunteers

Previous experience in program development, execution and evaluation

Ensure program operate in compliance with Club values, policies & best practices, funding and legislative requirements

Effectively manages multiple demands and priorities

Readily and sensitively manages any conflicts/issues

Manages the effective resolution of service delivery issues

Creative & alternative thinking to develop new ideas and approaches

Ensure that program areas and their equipment are maintained in a state that reflects the high standards of the organization - strict adherence and implementation of all Club infection control policies and practices

In cooperation with the Director of Programs and Services schedule, supervise, and evaluate leaders employed in the afterschool program

Actively engage in program implementation

Interact with children and families in a pleasant, positive and professional manner

Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's needs, child's participation, behaviours and/or any incidents

Preparation fee payment schedules within the best practices of the agency

Collection and processing of payments as required

Lifting on heavy items such as tables, chairs, sporting equipment, etc. does require the individual in this position to be in good physical condition and be aware of proper lifting techniques etc., to ensure personal safety.

Due to the large number of children & youth serviced the working environment can be extremely loud during peak hours of operation.

The environment can be fast paced and demanding - position is required to be extremely resourceful, ‘think quick on their feet’, manage multiply tasks and issues, able to prioritize and resolve issues effectively, thoroughly and effectively.

Responsible for the supervision of children & youth, leaders, students and volunteers and ensure behaviours are appropriate and within the standards and values of the Club

This position is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of seasonal leaders
