Role Overview
The Regional Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nine dermatology clinics across Canada. Reporting to the executive team, this individual will provide strategic direction, mentorship, and operational support to clinic office managers, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high-quality patient care.
In addition to a leadership function, the Regional Operations Manager must be capable of stepping into the role of Clinic Office Manager when needed, ensuring continuity of operations in any location. This role requires a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of healthcare operations, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Role Objectives
The Regional Operations Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leadership & Oversight
- Directly supervise and support Clinic Office Managers at each location, ensuring adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Act as a resource and escalation point for operational challenges, working collaboratively to resolve issues.
- Travel to clinic locations regularly to provide on-site leadership and hands-on support as needed.
Operational Excellence & Standardization
- Develop and implement standardized operational processes across all clinics to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
- Monitor clinic performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing action plans.
- Ensure compliance with provincial healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and company standards.
Financial & Business Performance
- Collaborate with the executive team to manage clinic budgets, control costs, and improve financial performance.
- Optimize resource allocation, including staffing, supplies, and operational workflows, to maximize profitability.
- Analyze operational data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
Team Development & Support
- Mentor, train, and develop Clinic Office Managers to enhance leadership capabilities and operational expertise.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management of clinic administrative staff.
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture across all clinics, ensuring engagement and accountability.
Hands-On Operational Support
- Step into the role of Clinic Office Manager when necessary due to absences, vacancies, or high-demand situations.
- Assist with front-desk operations, patient flow management, and administrative tasks as needed.
- Troubleshoot operational challenges and provide real-time solutions.
Vendor Partnerships
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key vendors, including medical suppliers, and facility maintenance contractors.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and high-quality service delivery.
- Monitor vendor performance, address service issues, and ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate vendor services and improve operational efficiencies.
Role Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in multi-site healthcare operations, preferably in medical clinics or dermatology.
- Proven leadership experience overseeing multiple locations, including staff supervision and operational management.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare administration, clinic workflows, and patient experience best practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to travel regularly to clinic locations as required.
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field (preferred).
