**Position Summary**:The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Recreation Manager, who is outgoing, creative, and innovative regarding program development and event planning. The Recreation Manager is responsible for creating a vision at the Cricket Club to guide the development of unique programs and special events throughout the year for children, youth, families, and adults. Developing and facilitating children’s camps and special events will require collaboration with various internal departments (athletics, F&B, facilities, communications, finance), and outside vendors.
**Major Responsibilities**:
- Plan and administer Camp Cricket - Summer Camp, Winter Break Camp, and March Break Camps
- Develop, implement, and execute new program initiatives by developing in-house events to meet the needs and interests of the Cricket Club’s junior members and families. Examples include Spring Family Fun Nights, Halloween Pumpkin Carving, Parent-Tot programs, art classes, winter shinny tournaments, basketball leagues, etc.
- Be innovative and actively refer to market research to identify trends in child and youth programming
- Recruit, hire and provide high quality training for staff to ensure we provide a safe, educational, and caring environment for children
- Manage contractors for seasonal programs and special events, including outdoor rink, indoor basketball, after-school programs, etc.
- Ensure all camps and programs are delivered in a safe and effective manner by understanding and complying with Ontario Camps Association (OCA) Requirements
- Actively communicate with parents and address any concerns in a timely manner
- Oversee all administrative requirements: create online registration; promote camps, programs and events; order supplies; pay invoices; schedule and administer payroll; administer attendance and billing
- Attend Club Life Committee meetings and assist with organization special events for adults.
- Submit content for Camp Brochures and Activities Books
- Use Northstar system to administer and bill online program registration
- Create an annual budget and monitor by monthly updates
**Qualifications**:
- Post-Secondary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education or related field is required or a combination of training and experience
- Previous experience as a Camp Director at a children’s summer camp is an asset
- Minimum 5 years developing and implementing child and youth programs is required
- High Five Certification is an asset
- Strong leadership skills; responsible and organized with the ability to multi-task and motivate others
- Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with parents, children, and direct reports
- Requires working proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Northstar (Club’s reservation system)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Current CPR/First Aid certifications recommended
