- Nature of the Work:

- The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in performing technical duties related to network, computer and peripherals, and providing technical support to users.**Responsibilities**:
- Participate in the overall computer support of the Dawson community via the Helpdesk;
- Maintain and configure print queues and troubleshoot printing issues.
- Assist in the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of workstations and virtual desktops (VDI).
- Maintain and upgrade software in labs and faculty offices.
- Working with the Audio-Visual technician assist in installation and configuration of projectors, LED screens and audio-visual equipment.
- Post notices for labs when needed, outlining new procedures and status updates.
- Participate in the daily operation of the labs and maintain all equipment (computers, printers, scanners, and other equipment in good working order), troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve routine problems, repair where possible, place service calls when required.
- Diagnose computer hardware and software problems, employing various utilities, where applicable, place service calls where necessary.
- Follow approved IST procedures for Helpdesk delivery of loaner equipment.
- Perform other duties as required by the Helpdesk manager.

**Requirements**:

- Qualifications:

- To have a diploma of college studies (DEC) in an appropriate specialty or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
- Conditions:
- Proven knowledge of Windows 10 operating systems, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to troubleshoot computer-related software and hardware
- Knowledge of Horizon and VMWare
- Knowledge of Windows printing and P-Counter software are an asset
- Advanced English communication skills and basic conversational French skills (testing may be required)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to organize work and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously
