Material Handler/forklift Operator

**This Role will be training on days for 2-3 months before moving to weekends.**
**Day shift 7:30-3:45 Monday-Friday**
**Weekends are 2:30 pm-3:00 am ET Friday-Sunday**

Role Purpose: Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. May prepare kitting packages pulling parts from inventory and delivery them for assembly production.

Key Responsibilities: Plant Specific Description
RESPONSIBLITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Performs kitting, picking, packing, SAP transactions and Customer Services as required by Production; shipping, receiving and forklift and other material handling equipment operations.
- Stocking put-aways, organizing shelves and kitting parts respecting FIFO (First in First out);
- Pack and ship a variety of orders.
- Accurately complete necessary paperwork for shipping and receiving orders
- Pick customer orders for shipping.
- Check in, issue and deliver product to other departments.
- Be on track about breakdown orders and be able to coordinate with Planners and Engineers to release outbounds and check do check.
- Flexibility and adaptability to assume other roles and support other job families as required.
- May be required to assist, instruct and provide training to other employees.
- Participates in activities to increase job knowledge, including required training and certifications, job rotation programs and training and coaching of other employees.
- Participate in Behavioural Based Safety Training and contribute to the program.
- Participate in LEAN/Six Sigma Training and contribute to and make recommendations for process improvements and LEAN activities.
- Performs work in accordance with job-specific training procedures, follows work aids (DWIs, prints etc.,) and produces work that consistently meets quality standards.
- Ensure tasks are conducted in accordance with applicable employment, environmental, health, safety, quality, and legislation and or regulations (federal, provincial, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, etc.), as well as Rockwell Automation values, ethics, policies and procedures, 5S requirements and standards of business conduct.
- Creates an optimal work environment by establishing and maintaining positive and respectful work relationships.
- All other duties as required and assigned by supervision

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: $15.62-$21.53 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
