Advantage Personnel is looking for the right person with a minimum of 5 years commercial driving and shunting expertise. In this role you will be working closely with our internal office team, with over the road and shunt drivers, and with the clients that rely on our firm to support their businesses. You will act as the safety ambassador for the company drivers performing safety mentorship, implementing safety initiatives, delivering on compliance programs, ensuring regulatory compliance is met, and occasionally jumping in the driver’s seat when needed. This is the perfect mix of office work, in the yard, and over the road work for someone that is looking for their next role in the transportation field.

Advantage Personnel has a long history of providing short term and long term contract solutions for private and commercial fleets throughout Canada since 1986. We have built strong programs in relation to recruitment, training, on-going compliance and safety, and overall fleet personnel management.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure safety & compliance is been adhered to daily (safety audits, safety memos, in yard observation)
- Must have strong attention to detail, ability to train others, and assess other’s skills and abilities
- Work with a team to create training programs and documents
- Assist in identifying and qualifying new drivers to support fulfillment
- Meet with and maintain close contact with key customer contacts, and provide daily feedback.
- Capable of covering shifts occasionally to support client’s coverages.
- Maintain driver files and certifications in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Perform site specific training (new driver requirements, class room training)
- Helping with scheduling and optimizing drivers for accounts
- Completing investigations and documenting safety concerns
- Travel to locations where the drivers will be, truck stops, distribution centers, delivery spots. Occasional overnight, early morning, late night travel will be required. Flexibility is key.

**This role requires**:

- Strong time management skills, as you will need to visit multiple sites and clients weekly
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Documentation of concerns and safety issues is required
- Must hold and maintain a valid Ontario AZ license, and maintain a good driving record
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the transportation industry
- Must have use of vehicle for daily travel to sites. Mileage paid
- Available to handle after hours emergencies (accidents, safety related concerns)
- Must be able to work independently and as part of team
- Ongoing and company paid training and education opportunities
- Continuous improvement in skills by reviewing and advising that technical, legislative, and best practices are being updated and implemented

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $67,500.00-$70,000.00 per year
