*** Strategic **Sourcing Specialist**
**Functional Responsibility**: Responsible for the efficient procurement of Capital Equipment and contracted services. The incumbent shall exhibit sound judgment, leadership and specialized knowledge ensuring procurement decisions achieve best overall value for the corporation. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or contract management will be considered an asset.
**Principal Duties**:
- Gather and analyze data related to supply chain operations, providing insightful reports to support decision-making.
- Work closely with the engineering team to establish contractual deliverables for capital equipment, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Develop and sustain strong business relationships with customers, suppliers, and business partners to foster collaboration and support sourcing objectives.
- Prepare, issue, and manage Requests for Proposals (RFP). Participate in the evaluation process, ensuring awards are based on established criteria, best practices, and compliance with commercial law.
- Lead procurement negotiations with both existing and new vendors to secure favorable terms that meet the company’s needs.
- Provide backup support to business unit buyers, including monitoring on-time delivery and expediting orders as required.
- Monitor and renegotiate vendor contracts as needed to maintain alignment with business objectives and market conditions.
- Engage in training opportunities as outlined in annual development plans and participate in cross-training within the department to expand skill sets.
- Stay informed on new technologies, government regulations, policies, and procedures related to procurement.
- Oversee day-to-day corporate purchasing activities, ensuring efficient and effective operations.

**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 5+ years directly related experience
- Proven Negotiation Skills
- Working towards (willing to) or completion of SCMP Designation or equivalent
- Understanding of Corporate Purchasing procedures
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and motivation to simultaneously handle complex procurement assignments in a team environment
- Proficient knowledge of the various material and services used throughout the corporation
- Effective Project Management Experience
