**Job description**

Do you have experience sourcing new suppliers? Do you enjoy finding continuous improvements? Dimatec is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Purchasing) to join our team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible to procure materials, goods, and services, through sound business practices. Optimizing overall value as it relates to quality, delivery, and price, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist will support organizational and departmental goals, objectives, and improvement initiatives, ensuring all production requirements are met. This position requires substantial communications with domestic and international suppliers, working closely with all departments within Dimatec.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor usage volumes and materials required for immediate production, of raw materials and purchased sub-components.
- Maintain standard cost and supplier pricing of raw materials and purchased sub-components in _SYSPRO_® ERP system for accuracy. Advise the Operations
- Manager of any price increases by more than 5% of the system price.
- Create, maintain, and expedite domestic and international purchase orders.
- Arrange cost effective supply point shipping methods.
- Coordinate supplier credits and returns as required in a timely manner.
- Ensure that excess stock is not purchased and that the company is able to meet all customer requirements.
- Follow all policies and procedures as per the Dimatec Inc. Quality Management System.
- Participate in weekly production planning meetings with the Operations Team.
- Analyze material requirements for planned production (including manufactured components) in consultation and cooperation with the Production Manager and Operations Manager.
- Provide timely and accurate information to production regarding issues that may impact product realization activities.
- Ensure that purchases conform to company defined and/or customer defined technical specifications by having engineering involved.
- Analyze material demand patterns, trends related to the availability of supply from external sources and inventory turnover, establishing minimum, maximum, safety stock and re-order point levels within the company’s _SYSPRO_® ERP system.
- Maintain proper documentation and record keeping including current standard cost and inventory adjustments as required.
- Report on current state and future state initiatives through developed metrics and KPI’s.
- Establish negotiated cost savings, optimal service, and superior quality in purchased products by developing new suppliers and nurture existing suppliers, securing multiple sources of supply where possible.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Comply with all customer and statutory requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years purchasing experience in a production/manufacturing environment using an ERP system.
- Certified CPIM through APICS or SCMP or CIM.
- Experience in international purchasing

**Key competencies**:

- Demonstrated ability to use _Microsoft Word®, Excel® _and _Outlook®_. The ability to use _UNIPOINT®_ and _SYSPRO®_ would be considered an asset.
- Experience with ERP software an asset.
- Strong negotiating skills coupled with strong administration and mathematical skills with high attention to detail is required.
- Familiarity with record keeping and document control practices.
- The ability to navigate and comprehend the company’s Quality Assurance Manual (QAM) and its associated documents including specification documents issued by customers.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills in the English language.
