Procurement specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES

**Purchasing & Sourcing**
- Source and procure raw materials, packaging, and indirect supplies for Canadian and U.S. production sites
- Evaluate and onboard suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage supplier relationships
- Issue purchase orders, confirm lead times, and track order status to ensure on-time delivery

**Inventory & Demand Planning**
- Collaborate with Operations and Production Planning to ensure material levels are appropriate and prevent stockouts or overages
- Monitor usage trends, lead times, and minimum order quantities to optimize procurement cycles

**Cost Management & Supplier Performance**
- Analyze spend data to identify cost reduction opportunities
- Monitor supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery), and escalate issues as needed

**Cross-Border & Compliance**
- Coordinate international shipments and ensure accurate customs documentation and duty handling
- Ensure compliance with CUSMA/USMCA, labeling standards, and import/export regulations

**Process & System Improvements**
- Maintain procurement records in QuickBooks and internal systems
- Identify and recommend improvements to procurement processes and sourcing strategies

**Support Company Growth**
- Identify backup suppliers for critical raw materials
- Monitor pricing and service level quality across supplier tiers
- Help develop sourcing strategies that support company growth and mitigate supply risk

QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5+ [ER1] years of procurement experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience with cross-border purchasing (Canada/U.S.) and international suppliers
- Strong experience in managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance, and tracking procurement metrics
- Strong negotiation and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills with experience in tracking and reporting on procurement performance, savings, and supplier performance.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions related to procurement processes and systems.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets
- Exposure to QuickBooks [ER2] is preferred
