Livingwaters College of Healthcare Inc. is actively seeking a **Child and Youth Care Instructor **to join our team

**Primary Purpose**:
The purpose of the Mental Health and Addictions Instructor is to teach students through lectures, discussions, and audio-visual presentation. Deliver instruction that meets module and program objectives as set out in the curriculum.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Teach students using a systematic plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, shop sessions, seminars, case studies, field assignments and independent or group projects
- Developing and delivering appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
- Incorporating a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
- Evaluating student progress / achievement
- Participating in program and college activities as required
- Participating in program revision and renewal activities as required
- Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment

**Qualifications**:

- Must have minimum 1 year experience as **Child and Youth Care Instructor.**:

- Child and Youth Care Worker: Degree or diploma in child/youth care or related human services degrees, diplomas.
- A minimum two years of relevant front-line and/or management experience within the Social Service Field, with demonstrated experience in one (or more) of the following areas: crisis intervention and trauma informed practice with a focus on individuals, family and/or community interventions, child and youth care practice with families, child development and plasticity, child and youth human rights, eco-relational practice, and community-based research and evaluation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to life-long learning
- Experience in some or all the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
- Knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook.

**Hours of Work**:
Depends upon the class schedule.
