Reporting to the Financial Manager, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for assisting in the overall efficient operation and function of the accounting cycle in a computerized environment while ensuring quality customer service is provided to all clients of Providence Care.

**Skills and Qualifications Required**:

- Completion of a 2 year Community College diploma in Accounting or related discipline
- 2 years of demonstrated experience in a computerized accounting setting or equivalent combination of education, training and experience, may be considered
- Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in handling cash and bank deposits; must be bondable

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Enters invoices after approved by Financial Manager and handles all correspondence related to outstanding invoices, discounts etc.
- Files all accounts payable cheques and invoices
- Produces and reconciles cheques for invoice payments
- Ensures the accuracy of all information recorded for billing purposes on patients account on computer system and forwards co-payment correspondence to all new admissions, daily
- Produces patient/insurance bills on discharge or at month end
- Prints/reviews/files monthly reports off computer system
- Prepares and controls all cash receipts
- Counts daily cafeteria cash and produces cash receipt for same
- Prepares all banking deposits
- Maintains computerized parking system for staff and visitor

**Salary**: $25.78-$28.34 per hour
