**Position Title: Merchandising Specialist**
**Team and Location: Retail - Burlington, ON, Calgary, AB or Vancouver, BC**
**Position Summary**:
The Merchandising Specialist is focused on the in-store experience and all in-store initiatives related to merchandising. This position supports the drive towards consistency for our convenience store offer and overall customer experience, building and maintaining strong relationships with cross-functional business partners, and working closely with Category Managers.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Oversite and accountability for on-site merchandising activities during initial store set up and refresh projects. Responsible for coordinating 3rd party merchandisers, communicating with vendors, reviewing equipment requirements, and liaising with construction department and other stakeholders.
- Create store layouts and allocate category selections utilizing approved standards in CAD and PDF formats.
- Maintain a data base to track all layouts and site-specific attributes. Work with third party and internal stakeholders to ensure they have the most up-to-date version in their data base.
- National Design Standards: Maintain and communicate current floor layout standards. Document and communicate any deviations that require approvals from the Nation Design Committee.
- Vendor equipment coordination: Maintain database of approved equipment details. Communicate changes and additions to stakeholders in construction and facilities
- Continuously address issues and new information and incorporate into future thinking and planning.
- Support the incorporation of any software or tools to better optimize the Store Planning process.
- Provide support coverage for other Merchandising team members.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- University degree/college diploma in related field.
- Retail experience.
- Category and/or merchandising experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding team player.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams comprised of peers and supervisors.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience/ability in CAD software an asset but not required.
- Bilingual an asset but not required.
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and able to quickly learn other programs.
