**Role Description**:
The **Equipment Operator** will play a pivotal role in operating and maintaining heavy equipment to support Elgie & Sons’ contracting services. This position requires a skilled, safety-minded professional who can efficiently handle machinery for projects such as **septic system installation, grading, landscaping, Grading, Excavating and snow removal**.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Safely operate equipment such as **excavators, skid steers, loaders, and related machinery**:

- Perform **digging, grading, backfilling, snow removal and loading tasks** as required on project sites
- Assist with **septic system installation and repair** by operating equipment to specifications
- Conduct daily inspections, basic maintenance, and reporting of any mechanical issues with equipment
- Work collaboratively with team members and follow supervisor directions to complete projects on time
- Adhere to all **safety regulations, procedures, and company policies**

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience operating heavy equipment (excavator, skid steer, loader, or similar)
- Valid **Class 5 Driver’s License** (Class 3 or air brake endorsement is considered an asset)
- Strong understanding of **equipment safety and maintenance practices**:

- Ability to perform physical tasks and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Experience in **septic, landscaping, snow removal, or construction industries** is an asset

**Driver’s License & Transportation Requirements**:
A valid **Class 5 Driver’s License** and reliable personal transportation are required. Class 3 with air brake endorsement is considered an asset. Must have a clean driver’s abstract.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
