NPCA’s work supports the conservation, enhancement, and sustainability of healthy watersheds with programs and services that focus on drinking water source protection, flood and hazard management, endangered species protection, ecosystem restoration, community stewardship, education, and land management.

NPCA is the caretaker of 41 conservation areas within the Niagara Peninsula watershed held in public trust for recreation, heritage preservation, conservation, and education. These natural and shared greenspaces marry nature, culture, and adventure to create limitless opportunities for discovery.

**The Opportunity**

Reporting to the Supervisor, Trees for All, the Project Lead, Trees for All is responsible for day-to-day implementation of medium to high complexity projects within the Trees for All planting service operations. Assigned projects may involve regulatory elements, multiple partners and/or funding sources, and advanced procurement requirements. The incumbent will be responsible for leading these projects within the team, working closely with stakeholders and working with the Supervisor to ensure funding parameters and associated budgets are adhered to.

**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Analyzing and interpreting biological and biophysical information to develop tree-planting projects.
- Coordinating and overseeing the delivery and completion of high-to-medium complexity tree planting projects and related program initiative, as required.
- Planning and facilitating the design of various tree planting project types including afforestation, reforestation, forest habitat restoration, wooded area or urban canopy cover establishment, and other naturalization efforts using trees and shrubs
- Working with the Supervisor to develop and monitor project budgets and funding requirements.
- Collaborating with municipal partners, regulatory agencies, consultants, and contractors in support of project planning, including obtaining necessary permits and permissions for restoration and stewardship projects
- Communicating effectively with private landowners, municipal partners and other project stakeholders for the development of tree planting projects as well as attending relevant outreach events to build community/agency support for a coordinated approach to ecological restoration across the watershed.
- Monitoring and updating project status including generating reports and presentations as required.

**What you Bring**
- Post-secondary education in Forestry, Environmental Science or related.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive project management experience related to reforestation or ecological restoration
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation an asset
- Demonstrated experience in effective communications and multi-stakeholder relations including community engagement
- Knowledge of regulatory legislation, policies and procedures
- The ability to work effectively as part of a high performing team within tight deadlines

**Compensation**: An hourly salary starting at $46.61 (Union Grade 6 - 35 hours/week - 2025 rate)

**Home Base Location**: NPCA Main Office - 3350 Merrittville Hwy, Thorold with travel within the watershed
