**Who you are**

You are deeply committed to the nonprofit world, and you are looking for the challenges and rewards of owning the donor relations aspect for Fund Development. You have experience across a full cycle of fundraising and exposure to all aspects, from grant research and writing to curating impact stories and cultivating targeted messaging for donors. You want to make your mark on our stewardship, introduce new methods of engaging donors, and contribute to a successful strategy that includes new ideas and approaches.

**Job Summary**:
Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join their team in the newly created position of Fund Development Specialist. This key role is responsible for developing and implementing the grant program, managing stakeholder relationships, engaging donors, and providing essential support to the organization's fund development efforts.

**Responsibilities**:

- Categorize projects needing financial support
- Identify potential grantors: government, foundations, corporations, and community organizations. Use online databases and networks to find funding opportunities.
- Cultivate relationships through events and outreach.
- Tailor proposals to grantor requirements, emphasizing project need and impact.
- Develop detailed budgets aligned with grantor guidelines.
- Submit proposals early and maintain open communication with funders.
- Implement grant management procedures for funds, progress, and outcomes.
- Provide timely reports showcasing project impact.
- Regularly evaluate and refine the grant-seeking strategy.
- Acknowledge and build long-term relationships with grantors for continued support.
- Work with Marketing Manager to develop and provide regular updates on the Habitat’s achievements, challenges, and future plans to maintain transparency.
- Tailor engagement strategies to the preferences and interests of different stakeholder groups.
- Acknowledge and express gratitude for the contributions of stakeholders, fostering a sense of appreciation and belonging.
- Uphold ethical standards in all interactions with stakeholders, ensuring fairness and integrity.
- Focus on building long-term relationships rather than transactional interactions for sustained support and collaboration.
- Celebrate milestones and successes together with stakeholders, reinforcing a sense of shared accomplishment.
- Other duties as required

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
