Overall Accountability
The Kindergarten Assistant assists and supports students and teachers.
Specific Accountabilities
- Prepares materials, constructs and assembles displays, duplicates and distributes materials
- Motivates and encourages students to participate in learning activities
- Assists with special events and activities
- Leads children in activities and assists in demonstrations
- Performs clerical duties as required
**Qualifications**:
- Category 2 - High School Diploma
- Category 3 - Diploma/certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution or the equivalent of a minimum of one (1) year post-secondary course study preferred
- Ability to speak and read English fluently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Aptitude for creativity and adaptability
