**Be Part of the Front Line That Protects Our Community’s Health**

This isn’t just a data job. It’s an opportunity to be part of something truly meaningful — a role where your attention to detail and coordination skills help protect the health of an entire region.

As a Surveillance Data Coordinator with Peel Public Health, you'll be an essential part of the team that tracks, manages, and shares critical information on communicable diseases. The data you handle influences how Public Health responds to emerging health threats, manages outbreaks, and makes informed decisions that keep our communities safe.

If you're looking for work with purpose, impact, and a team that values your expertise, this is it.

**What You’ll Do**:
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on precision, loves digging into data, and wants their work to have real-world impact. You’ll:

- Process and manage communicable disease reports in the integrated Public Health Information System (iPHIS)
- Support outbreak responses by coordinating time-sensitive health data with speed and accuracy
- Collaborate with internal and external partners including labs, hospitals, and other public health units
- Improve data quality through regular audits, troubleshooting, and documentation updates
- Train and support staff, helping them navigate Ministry databases and data standards
- Contribute to innovation by refining workflows and developing tools to support team procedures
- Other duties as assigned

**What You Bring**:
You’re someone who thrives in a structured yet fast-paced environment and understands the critical role data plays in health systems. Ideally, you have:

- Post-secondary education in a related field, with 1-3 years of data management or equivalent experience
- Strong experience with data entry and large databases like iPHIS
- Knowledge of communicable disease reporting and the ability to interpret lab results
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact
- An eye for detail and a passion for data quality and accuracy
- Strong communication skills — both written and verbal
- High proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other data management tools
- The ability to work well independently and in a team, with excellent organizational skills and adaptability
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

**Be bold. Think big. Join us.**

**Perks That Make Work Fun (and Your Life Easier)**

- ** Top-Notch Benefits**:Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision plan (yes, even psychological health coverage) — starting on your very first day
- ** OMERS Pension Plan**:Automatic enrolment to help secure your future with peace of mind.
- ** Vacation Time That Grows**:Start with 3 weeks of vacation per year— because work-life balance is important
- ** Personal Days Just for You**:Enjoy 3 paid personal days and floating holidays to recharge whenever you need.
- ** Wellness First**:Flexible hours to fit your lifestyle and prioritize your health and well-being.
- ** Performance Pays Off**:Annual performance reviews with merit increases — your hard work is recognized and rewarded
- ** Supportive, Respectful Culture**:Work in an environment where leadership truly cares and inclusivity is celebrated.
- ** Learning & Growth**:Access to tuition reimbursement and tons of development resources to keep you growing — whether in your career or on a personal level.
