We are seeking an experienced Controller who will oversee the governance, internal and external financial
statements, finance, income and excise tax, and internal controls as they relate to the Revenue Producing
Properties.
Using a pragmatic approach, you will consistently deliver unrivaled product while focusing on developing
the talent of your team.
**About the role**
The Controller is a key strategic leader of the Company’s internal and external financial reporting
process and resulting product. With this in mind, you
- will ensure the timely preparation and distribution of monthly and quarterly internally prepared
financial statements.
- coordinate the year-end financial reporting process with external accounts.
- liaise between the property managers and property accountants to ensure responsibility alignment.
- review Requests for Proposal for new or amended debt facilities.
- prepare and file corporate income tax returns, HST returns and regulatory installment payments.
- ensure there is alignment between corporate or limited partnership tax returns and year-end
- financials.- implement and manage the investment thesis for surplus funds held by various entities.
- assess and improve internal controls.
- oversee regulatory compliance.
- serve as a business partner in support of strategic objectives for departmental operations.
- oversee workflow documentation and enhancement.
**About you**
You have/are:
- strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to provide leadership and direction to a team
- the ability to work with Executive Team and business unit leaders and inspire confidence
- the knowledge of cost and financial accounting procedures and protocols, analysis and reporting
- the knowledge of cost-effective utilization and optimization of ERP systems and IT environment
- a high comfort level and tolerance to manage stress and role demands
- strong project management experience with the ability to develop, monitor and evaluate projects
- with multiple deliverables and deadlines- highly motivated and enthusiastic disposition with a strong desire for continued learning
