Cornerstone Credit Union is looking for a Communications Specialist to join our Strategy & Brand team.

**_The Role:_**

Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Communications Specialist plays an integral role in our internal and external communications, and our community investment program at Cornerstone. You promote a positive public image and control the dissemination of information on our company's behalf. You are a strategic thinker with an eye for details, work well under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing and executing internal and external communications, adhering to Cornerstone's brand and language, ensuring high-quality and error-free copy.
- Leading the coordination of our community investment programs, including sponsorships and donations, scholarships, and our major community investment program, Project Cornerstone. Being involved in community initiatives and being a liaison between Cornerstone and community groups and organizations.
- Organizing initiatives and planning corporate and member meetings and events related to business goals and objectives. You are part of a team that leaves a lasting impression with every event.
- _This position is considered full time for an anticipated _seven-month term position that may be shortened or lengthened depending on organizational requirements._

What you will bring: _**
- Post-secondary education in business, marketing, and/or communications; plus three to five years of job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Superior organizational skills and proficient in multi-tasking. Able to handle many diverse projects at one time and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in copywriting, content creation, proofreading and editing.
- Solid understanding of project management principles, organizational and planning skills.
- Working knowledge of corporate communications, marketing principles and practices, digital marketing platforms such as MailChimp, social media.
- Applied knowledge or background of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) are an asset.
