**The Position**:
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Financial Analyst will be an integral member of the Finance team responsible for day-to-day accounting support. Must be a focused team player, detailed oriented and proactive. This position will ensure timely and reliable reporting is available to support the rapid growth of the business. This role will require interaction with all areas and levels within the Melitron organization.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare reconciliations of various general ledger accounts and bank accounts
- Assist with month-end close process, prepare journal entries and maintain schedules in support of general ledger activities.
- Prepare year end schedules & reconciliations for the purpose of annual audit
- Prepare payroll reconciliations and post journal entries
- Maintain Fixed Assets module and post journal entries
- Maintain bank positions and prepare weekly cash forecast
- Maintain AR sub ledger and reconcile balances with customer owing
- Initiate customer calls and collection of past due accounts
- Prepare periodical sales analysis and performance reports
- Set up new business partners and support credit review process in establishing terms
- Perform and maintain periodic product cost rolls / updates in a standard costing environment
- Compare actual costs to standard costs / estimates and analyze variances
- Review bill of material (BOM), routing, and resource costs for accuracy
- Prepare monthly inventory report, highlight discrepancies and recommend corrections.
- Provide support to Controller in special projects

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of accounting principles; post-secondary education in accounting as an asset.
- Understanding of cost accounting and costing analysis is an added advantage.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills & Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
- ERP system experience; SAP Business one would be favorable
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, able to communicate with various internal / external business partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
