The Financial Analyst position supports the philosophy and mission of St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre (SJLCB) and the established goals, objectives, and policies of the organization. This position is a member of the Finance team responsible for various reconciliations and government reporting. The Financial Analyst will work in a safe and healthy manner and follow the regulations outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Key Accountabilities:

- Prepare bank reconciliations (Operating and Trust Accounts)
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations (cash, Inventory, Prepaids, Accounts Payable)
- Prepare journal entries and accruals as required for approval (VISA statements)
- Complete the monthly Capital / Prepaid entries
- Maintain the capital assets continuity schedule
- Track and complete all government reporting
- Prepare rent analysis for office spaces
- Support the preparation of monthly financial statements as required
- Support the year-end audit with above mentioned audit working papers, as required
- Work with other departments to receive all data required to support daily and monthly journal entries
- Complete critical tasks, in the absence of other Finance staff to ensure operational continuity
- Support the Finance Manager as required
- Contribute to a transparent culture of client and staff safety by adhering to and abiding by patient and staff safety policies and procedures set by SJLCB
- Support payroll coordinator with payroll processing as required
- Ad hoc duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Accounting
- CPA certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with preference for healthcare sector financial and statistical experience
- Experience using and running reports using general ledger software
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel skills for data manipulation and analysis
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborator with a positive attitude to deliver quality results
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
- Demonstrated strong internal customer service skills with the ability to partner will all levels and client groups of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use discretion and diplomacy when handling confidential information
- Demonstrated good attendance
