Payroll & HR Administrator

**Job Summary**:
The Payroll/HR Administrator will manage the payroll process, administer benefits, and support HR functions, including employee record management and PTO tracking. You will play a key role in implementing and maintaining our new integrated HRIS and payroll system, ensuring accurate and efficient processes while driving compliance with employment standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly employees and bi-monthly payroll for salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain payroll records, including timekeeping, deductions, and adjustments.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
- Assist in the implementation, testing, and ongoing maintenance of the new HRIS and payroll system.
- Ensure the HRIS supports electronic timesheets, PTO tracking, and employee self-service functionality.
- Monitor and track PTO and leave balances for all employees.
- Assist with onboarding new hires, maintaining employee files, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Prepare payroll and HR-related reports for management as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for payroll and benefits-related inquiries.
- Stay updated on provincial and federal employment legislation affecting payroll and HR processes.
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll and HR administration, preferably in a similar-sized organization.
- Proven experience with payroll systems and HRIS implementation is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with payroll software.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Understanding of Nova Scotia labor laws and regulations is preferred.

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
