Duties: Reporting to the Director of Facilities as part of the Vice President, Strategy, BudgetOperations portfolio, the HealthSafety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the College's Occupational HealthSafety (OHS) and Emergency Management programs. This role ensures institutional compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and College policies by coordinating inspections, conducting risk assessments, supporting incident investigations, facilitating training, and maintaining safety documentation and systems. The coordinator plays a key role in fostering a culture of safety and preparedness across all campuses. There will be travel to campuses and off-site locations as required as well as occasional non-standard work hours (evenings/weekends) to address emergencies or to deliver training.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a two-year diploma in Occupational HealthSafety, Emergency Management, or a related field, plus at least four years of experience in HealthSafety or Emergency Management-ideally in a post-secondary or public sector setting. They should have strong knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations and relevant legislation, with proven ability to interpret complex requirements. Expertise in workplace investigations, risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software. Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills are required. Incident Command System training is an asset. Candidates must hold a valid Class 5 BC driver's license, WHMIS certification, and Basic Occupational First Aid (or be willing to obtain)

Salary: Position #210

CUPE Pay Level 7 with a starting wage of $55,673.80 per year starting wage with increments progressing to Step 5 as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
