Could It Be You?** The Specialist, Casualty Treaty is responsible for supporting with the marketing and underwriting of treaty Casualty business for the area covered by Munich Reinsurance Company of Canada (MROC). **Need more details?

Keep reading** **Your key responsibilities will include**: **Underwriting** - Underwrites treaty casualty business in accordance with MROC's guidelines and philosophy and within the limits authorized by the Head of Department. - Evaluates submissions, assesses and rates risks and performs all necessary underwriting functions in order to recommend acceptance or declination and/or offer alternative terms and conditions on treaties offered to MROC. - Negotiates and participates in negotiations within the company and with clients, in conjunction with Client Management. - Ensures that fast and efficient service is provided to our clients. **Marketing** - Completes and/or updates CM and writes visitation reports after each visit when necessary. - Promotes MROC products, services and facilities and builds business relationships with cedents and provides information and advice to cedents on matters of his/her competence. - Monitors market conditions and the activities of MROC's existing and potential Casualty cedents and reinsurance competitors and reports to Management as needed. **Other** - Keeps the Department Head informed of their activities. - Keeps up to date with on line treaty system changes. - Prepares reports as may be required. **Qualifications** First and foremost, you will demonstrate strong leadership and achievement, a strong work ethic, enthusiasm towards change and a drive to make a difference. In addition, we are looking for the following qualifications: - A Bachelors’ Degree in any professional discipline, Actuarial Science, Mathematics preferred. - Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) / Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) or equivalent "on-the-job" education or training. - 5-10 years primary insurance underwriting experience as a minimum or equivalent (i.e. facultative reinsurance experience and 2-5 years of reinsurance treaty experience). - Maintain knowledge through industry publications, attending seminars or workshops related to underwriting issues. - Excellent analytical, negotiating and investigative competencies. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Strong computer ability and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. - Ability to work independently and in a team environment. - Business and general insurance acumen. - Adaptability and flexibility. - French/German language skills an asset. **Click on the link to apply
