**Job Summary**
- Reporting to the Office of the Vice-Provost, Planning and Analytics, Dalhousie Analytics (DA) is accountable for the identification, transformation and delivery of data and information to support evidence-based decision making; and provides research and analysis to support the strategic priorities of Dalhousie. The Institutional Analyst provides focused data and analytics support to the VP Research and Innovation and the VP Government and Global Relations, according to the Dal Analytics mandate. The incumbent reports to the Assistant Vice-Provost, Data and Analytics, takes direction on everyday tasks from the senior team lead and supports the Dal Analytics team in the development of university-wide metrics, models, and tools.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Help plan, prepare and submit institutional ranking data and provides quantitative and qualitative analysis of the University’s rankings data and metrics.
- Help plan and implement the Government and Global Relations data strategy with direct input from the senior leadership team.
- With the guidance of the Assistant Vice-Provost, Data and Analytics, create and maintain data products for deans, directors and other senior leadership, to enable and facilitate secure, official, timely and accurate access to relevant data. This includes but it is not limited to reports, Tableau dashboards, data extracts and tables of descriptive or model results.
- Implement and maintain reproducible data workflows that meet institutional, technical and operational business requirements, including code review, project tracking, project documentation and version control with the support and/or supervision of the Data Engineer.
- Attend project, task force, committees and other meetings as requested.

**Note**
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline plus a minimum of four years’ relevant work experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Strong data analysis skills in combination with a professional background in data analysis, business intelligence or statistics.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills, including time, and priority management.
- Willingness to take initiative in a high-pressure environment with changing deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, through a collaborative and constructive style, both within Dalhousie Analytics and across academic and administrative units.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential data.

**Assets**
- Knowledge of institutional research, particularly institutional performance and rankings or a desire to learn.
- Demonstrated experience with relational databases.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket or other project management and version control software or desire to learn. Experience with Python, R or similar tools, or desire to learn.
