Prepress Operator, Corrugated Division

**About the Role**:
We are seeking a skilled prepress operator to join our team to provide technical prepress services in our Corrugated Division. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency in Prepress combined with some graphic design skills. The position works with sales, customer service, and production to prepare customer-supplied artwork for digital and/or flexo manufacturing.

**Compensation**:
The typical compensation range for this position is $46,000 to $56,000 per year depending on experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- Gain a thorough understanding of Corrugate and Flexo production workflows.
- Understand manufacturing capabilities and limitations of both Flexo and Digital production.
- Accept, prepare, and adapt customer files as needed for manufacturing.
- Clearly and concisely communicate technical issues to Prepress, Sales, CSC, and Manufacturing personnel.
- Provide graphic, photographic, and typography changes to customer art as required.
- Provide colour management and trapping corrections as required.
- Create, edit, and validate barcodes.
- Create and inspect soft proofs and/or printed samples to ensure accuracy.
- Produce final, imposed artwork for both Digital and Flexo manufacturing.
- Maintain departmental on-time delivery standards.
- Contribute to process improvement.
- Follow and contribute to the development of standards and SOP’s relevant to the position.
- Understand 5S and Safety in the Prepress office area and within the manufacturing environment.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in Prepress or Graphic Design, preferably in the packaging industry.
- Graphic Arts degree or diploma from a recognized University or Post-Secondary Institute is preferred.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products, specifically Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, and Photoshop is an asset.
- Experience with ESKO & HYBRID packaging software an asset but not required.
- Demonstrable critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex problems to others in person and in writing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
