Reporting to the Manager of Cyber Security in the Cyber Security & Enterprise Architecture, you will be a member of the Cyber Security Operations team, providing cyber security services to the Enterprise. As a Cyber Security Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for front line cyber defense, monitoring Manitoba Hydro's systems for malicious activity and responding to cyber-events as they happen to prevent or reduce downtime and ensure business continuity. **_ Responsibilities:_** - Receive and investigate cyber security events and alerts and determine their relevance and urgency. - Carry out triage and analysis to ensure that a genuine security incident is occurring and not a false positive by using threat - intelligence to pinpoint affected systems and the extent of the cyber event.- Analyze, document, and report on any information security issues as well as emerging trends and respond to known and - previously unknown hardware and software vulnerabilities.- Develop and/or improve cyber security playbooks, guidelines, processes, practices and standards, and prepare disaster - recovery plans.- Perform day-to-day system management functions: monitor and analyze system status, usage and performance, patching and - upgrades, and provide back-up support for other support specialists in the Cyber Security Operations Centre.- after hours to lead response to critical and urgent issues as needed.- In the event of a significant cyber security incident, must be prepared to come in to work at any time during a 24-hour period to - assure Manitoba Hydro system security and reliability.- Keep abreast of cyber security trends and issues of strategic and/or significant business importance within the corporation and maintain a state-of-the-art knowledge of computer hardware, software, and services as they relate to security infrastructure and platforms. - Demonstrate creativity in resolving complex information technology issues, implementing new processes and products, redesign work processes, and contribute ideas and solutions, as well as assist others in complex technology related issues. - Develop and maintain good working relationships with contacts within D&T, ICS teams, and stakeholders throughout Manitoba Hydro, as well as industry contacts for the purpose of information exchange and to keep abreast of technology innovation and directions (including active participation in local security organizations such as ISACA). - MANITOBA HYDRO IS COMMITTED TO DIVERSITY AND EMPLOYMENT EQUITY Reference Code: CO56612735-01 **_ Qualifications:_** - A four year degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from a university of recognized standing plus a minimum of five years of related IT Support/Administration experience of which at least three years must be in a system/platform support or system/platform administration role. OR - A two year diploma in Computer Programming Technology from an institute of recognized standing plus a minimum of seven years related IT Support/Administration experience of which at least five years must be in a system/platform support or system/platform administration role. - Has or be willing to obtain certification within 12 months: ISACA CSX Cybersecurity Practitioner (CSX-P) or (ISC)2 Entry-Level Cybersecurity Certification; and maintain that certification in good standing. - General understanding of technology and how it is deployed to support the Enterprise including information technology (IT), operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS). - Strong oral and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively to all levels of management and staff. - Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and self-motivating. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments and to lead teams. - Demonstrated creativity in resolving complex information technology issues, implementing new processes and products and - redesigning work processes.- Obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro - policy P513.- Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Training is required and must be completed
