Join our team of Manitoba's best as we continue to build a company that supports innovation, commitment, and customer service, while actively supporting a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.With the general direction of the Cyber Security Operations Centre Lead, provide front line cyber defense for Manitoba Hydro by readying response to complex cyber events, leading response to cyber events, being the primary specialist on one or more security tools, and monitoring Manitoba Hydro's systems for malicious activity. This position will help ensure security through the application of engineering principles and industry standards.ResponsibilitiesReadying response to complex cyber eventsDesign and facilitate threat hunting activities and lead continuous improvements to expand threat detection and response capabilities.Lead continuous improvements assigned to the Cyber Security Operations Centre from audits, exercises, incidents, etc.Participate in and facilitate preparedness exercises including tabletop, operation centre, and field exercises.Develop and improve cyber security playbooks, processes, policies, and metrics.Engage in technology projects to ensure Cyber Security Operations Centre requirements are being met.Ensure security through the application of engineering principles and industry standards. Provide recommendations and justifications on security tools and programs that affect system availability and reliability.Leading response to cyber eventsOversee team members on leading routine cyber security events.Lead interdepartmental teams in identifying, protecting, detecting, responding, and recovering from cyber security events.Understands portfolio of tools, response capability inventory, and response plans and how they can be leveraged to address more complex or non-routine cyber security events.On a scheduled rotating basis, provide 24/7 standby support for cyber security infrastructure and applications and be available after hours to lead response to critical and urgent issues as needed.Being the primary specialist on one or more security toolsKeep abreast of cyber security trends and issues of strategic and/or significant business importance within the corporation and maintain a state-of-the-art knowledge of computer hardware, software, and services as they relate to security infrastructure and platforms.Develop and maintain good working relationships with industry contacts for the purpose of information exchange.Lead documenting, sharing, and implementing best practices for security tool use and configuration, and engaging the team in continuous improvements.Mentor and develop team members. Build tiered knowledge and skill assessments for the use and troubleshooting of the tool.Providing input into security tool roadmaps and identifying opportunities to enhance coverage.Monitoring Manitoba Hydro's systems for malicious activityApply data science principles to analyze, visualize, orchestrate and automate telemetry from multiple data and threat sources. Triage, analyze, document, prioritize, and respond to information security issues, emerging trends, and hardware and software vulnerabilities.Assess, disseminate and take required action from threat intelligence sources.Perform day-to-day system management functions: monitor and analyze system status, usage and performance, patching and upgrades, provide back-up support for other support specialists in the Cyber Security Operations Centre, and perform NERC CIP tasks for cyber security infrastructure and applications.QualificationsGraduate in Engineering from a university of recognized standing, plus a minimum of four years experience, including two years related experience in Cyber Security, Operational Technology, or Information Technology Infrastructure support.Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a specified amount of time).Has or be willing to obtain certification within 12 months: ISAACA CSX Cybersecurity Practitioner (CSX-P) or (ICS)2 Entry-Level Cybersecurity certification; and maintain that certification in good standing. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, OSCP, CEH, CGIH, GPE, SANS, etc. would be an asset.Demonstrated understanding of technology and how it is deployed to support the Enterprise including information technology (IT), operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS).Technical system support experience with Information Technology and infrastructure components.Demonstrated understanding of cyber security concepts, controls, frameworks and standards including NIST and NERC CIP.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments and to lead teams. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain harmonious working relationships with staff across the enterprise at all levels.Demonstrated creativity in resolving complex information technology issues, implementing new processes and products and redesigning work processes.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to deliver reports, recommendations, and presentations.Must complete Manitoba Hydro Standards of Conduct training.Must possess a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.NERC CIP Training is required, must be completed prior to transfer date, and renewed annually.Obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro policy P513.Reside within the Winnipeg headquarters zone or within a 20-minute travelling distance from the assembly point during standby.Salary RangeStarting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the Professional Engineer classification is $43.44-$59.95 Hourly, $83,247.84-$114,870.60 Annually.
