Unix/Linux Builder

Our client is large IT infrastructure consulting firm who in turn work with many of Canada's Fortune 1000 companies. We are currently looking to bring on an **offshore, remote **resource who is well versed in Unix AIX and or Linux server building, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, pathing and scripting.
- Review requirements and update/create forms and engage other teams as required.
- Build and configure servers as per OS and Software stack Standards (OS - virtual or physical, software stack agents, user & group ID's, clustering, monitoring, etc.)
- Build and configure servers as per standards for higher-level software components (e.g. MW, DB, clustering, monitoring, etc) and engaging other teams as required to ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Team Work: Participate in knowledge transfer and work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team in achieving business objectives
- Service: Support a positive work environment that promotes customer service, quality, innovation and ensure timely communication of issues to ensure objectives are met
- Time Management : Identify, estimate and track deliverables required by all project work orders
- Performs additional duties and special assignments as required and assigned.
- Demonstrates customer service attitude and work ethic.
- Works well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments.
- Has ability to work independently under general direction.
**Qualifications**
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or similar appropriate education.
- At least 2-5 years of UNIX AIX/Linux/Red hat/Solaris/Suse, RAC, Stack, Clustering / Load Balancing / Virtualization, UNIX Systems Administration, troubleshooting, patching & Scripting
- Familiar with web services in a large UNIX environment.
- Familiar with VMware
- Experience with (SDM) change management, (MCI) CMDB, ServiceNow & RIVERMINE project management tools, etc.
- Demonstrates customer service attitude and work ethic.
- Works well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments.
- Completion of UNIX training curriculums and certifications [asset]
- Exposure to Oracle DB fundamentals [asset]
- Middleware experience (JBOSS/WAS/Apache etc..) [asset]
