ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
- Graduate of two-year approved Medical Office Assistant Program from a recognized Community college (or equivalent).
- High comprehension of Medical terminology required
- Computer/Technical skills: Demonstrated keyboarding and Switchboard panel proficiency and demonstrated knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet functions.
- Must be able to work day, afternoon and night shifts with mínimal call-in notice
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
- Prior medical office experience a definite asset.
- Demonstrated professional telephone skills.
- Satisfactory attendance.

- Change orientation: Must be adaptable to change and willing to actively contribute to continual process improvements.
- Clerical skills; Proficient keyboarding skills, Professional telephone skills, organization skills, computer skills, ect.
- Patient orientated: Must demonstrate patient/family focused care at all times.
- Communication: Must be able to actively listen and verbally communicate clearly while being sensitive, appreciative and respectful of patient issues. Communication skills especially relevant through Switchboard job duties.
- Excellent interpersonal and interdepartmental communication skills - listening, verbal and written.
