We’re hiring a **Store Manager** to lead daily operations and build a high-performing team at our brand-new Laurier Optical location in Carleton Place. What You’ll Do

**Store Operations & Leadership (Core)**
- Lead daily operations including opening/closing, readiness standards, and smooth workflow.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and coach associates (sales + front-of-house).
- Run short daily huddles, set weekly priorities, and build accountability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming environment; ensure health & safety compliance.

**Training & Team Development**
- Build and maintain onboarding checklists and simple SOPs for the team.
- Lead regular training (product knowledge, sales conversations, customer experience standards).
- Coach to performance and build consistency across shifts.
- Grow into a “train-the-trainer” capability—standardize best practices as the store scales.

**Customer Experience & Sales Execution**
- Set the service standard on the floor (greeting, discovery, styling support, handoffs).
- Drive sales performance through coaching, role-play, and conversion improvement.
- Handle escalations and ensure service recovery is professional and timely.

**Demand Generation & Local Marketing (Core)**
- Take ownership of **generating demand** for the store, especially in the first 90 days.
- Build local referral pathways (medical centre tenants, nearby clinics, community groups, employers).
- Drive Google Reviews and reputation-building with a consistent in-store ask and follow-up process.
- Utilize social media (e.g., Instagram/Facebook) to promote the store, launches, promotions, and community presence—while following brand guidelines.
- Plan and execute simple local activations (open-house, community events, partnerships, pop-ins).

**KPI & Performance Management**
- Track and report key KPIs (sales, transactions, conversion, average sale, reviews, remake/issue trends).
- Identify what’s working / not working and adjust tactics quickly.
- Provide weekly updates to ownership with clear actions and priorities.

**Admin & Coordination**
- Support insurance billing process adherence (through team workflow—no licence required).
- Coordinate with head office on basic ordering, inventory rhythm, and operational needs.

Qualifications (Store Manager must-haves)
- **4+ years experience managing a team** in retail and/or a clinic setting (optical, dental, medical, hearing, pharmacy, or high-volume retail).
- Proven ability to **hire, train, schedule, and coach** team members.
- Strong KPI mindset: comfortable tracking numbers weekly and taking action.
- Excellent communication, clear expectations, calm under pressure.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends.

**Assets (nice-to-haves)**
- Optical retail experience and/or healthcare clinic operations background.
- Experience launching a new store/location or improving performance in an existing business.
- Interest in eventually pursuing an optician licence and expanding scope/responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience growing traffic/sales through local outreach and/or social media.
- Comfortable creating simple content, running basic local campaigns, and building community partnerships.
