**Job Type**: Full-Time, Permanent
**Shift**: Shift Work (Morning/Afternoon/Evening)
**Expected hours**: 40 hours per week
**Compensation**: Hourly wage, based on experience

**About MacKinnon Magnetics**

MacKinnon Magnetics is a Canadian startup currently setting up its manufacturing facility to produce high-quality dry-type distribution transformers ranging from 15 kVA to 1000 kVA. We're building the company from the ground up, which means you'll be joining at an exciting and formative stage. Our team is small, collaborative, and fast-paced—with the flexibility and learning opportunities that come from a true startup environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our foundational operations. If it’s a strong fit, there is potential for long-term growth and the chance to take on a leadership role as we scale.

**Position Summary**

We are seeking a dependable, versatile **Production Support Associate** to assist with a variety of tasks in our transformer manufacturing facility. This is a generalist position ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is eager to learn, and wants exposure to multiple areas of transformer production. The role involves supporting material handling, kitting, basic prep work, and assisting production teams as needed across assembly, winding, testing, and shipping.

This is a key support role with clear growth potential — as skills develop, there are opportunities to transition into specialized roles within assembly, winding, testing, or other technical positions.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Pick materials based on Bill of Materials (BOM) and prepare carts with required components for production teams, including winding technicians
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, unloading materials, and staging inventory as required
- Cut materials (e.g., insulation, brackets, dog bones) to specified sizes based on production needs
- Support general production tasks including basic assembly, testing assistance, and winding preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across production areas, ensuring tools and materials are put away properly
- Conduct routine housekeeping tasks to keep the facility safe and orderly
- Assist other departments and team members as needed to meet production schedules
- Read and interpret material lists, work orders, and instructions accurately
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental guidelines, including proper use of PPE and safe operation of equipment
- Participate in cross-training opportunities to develop broader production skills

**Qualifications & Requirements**
- Prior experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or general labour is an asset
- Comfortable using basic hand tools, measuring tools, and following written instructions
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new processes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to follow safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized workplace
- Forklift and overhead crane operation experience considered an asset (training provided if needed)

**Why Join MacKinnon Magnetics?**
- Competitive hourly wages and comprehensive benefits
- Ongoing training, cross-functional learning, and technical skill development
- Opportunities to grow into more specialized roles or leadership positions as the company scales
- Be part of building a company from the ground up, with a say in shaping our processes and culture
- Modern, clean, and safety-focused manufacturing environment
- Collaborative, fast-paced, small-team environment where your contributions make a visible impact
