Overview:
The Income Tax Analyst role forms part of the North American Tax team and is located in Mississauga, Ontario.
This role will be primarily responsible for the preparation, reconciliation and analysis of all income tax accounts, installments and cash tax reporting. This role will prepare and analyze all the subsidiaries’ tax returns and other required filings. In addition, this role will be responsible for the preparation of the tax provisions of the subsidiaries within the Lafarge Canada Inc. group of companies.

- Communicating, improving and adhering to health & safety policies in all work environments.
**Tax Accounts & Cash taxes**:
- Preparing, reconciling and analyzing all income tax accounts, calculating installments payments for Lafarge Canada Inc. and its subsidiaries and cash tax reporting.

**Tax Reporting**:
- Preparing and analyzing Lafarge Canada Inc.’s subsidiaries’ quarterly, hard-close and year-end consolidated tax provisions.
- Contribute to the preparation and analysis of Lafarge Canada Inc.’s quarterly, hard-close and year-end consolidated tax provision.
**Tax Returns and other filings**:
- Preparing and analyzing Lafarge Canada Inc.’s subsidiaries’ tax returns, including T106’s and respective annual true-ups.
- Contributing to the preparation and analysis of Lafarge Canada Inc.’s tax returns and annual true-ups.
- Preparing the withholding tax payments, NR4 filings and T1135s etc.

**Internal and External (including Tax Authorities) Audits**:
- Assisting and supporting the Income Tax Manager in gathering information and drafting responses to tax authorities’ queries as well as external auditor’s queries for designated companies.
- Maintaining appropriate documentation to support all tax positions, accounting entries, assessments/audit information etc.
- Assisting the income tax manager in supporting internal as well as external audit reporting requirements.
**Ad Hoc Requirements**:
- Working on special projects such as amalgamations or wind-ups of legal entities.
- Liaison with other teams for process improvements such as audit support documentation and other processes within tax.
- Understand the federal and provincial income tax rules and regulations and assist in implementing any required changes to tax processes.
**Relationship with Others**
- Close interaction with Business Units, Regional Finance Staff and our shared services team-ABS
- Close interaction with other members of the tax team
- Able to work as a member of diverse teams including members from different functional areas such as treasury, accounting & finance, legal and various locations and time zones
**Dimensions**
- This positon reports to the Income Tax Manager, Canada who in turn reports to the Director of Tax, Canada
Qualifications:

Education & Experience_**
- Undergraduate degree required in accounting, business, commerce or equivalent experience
- Professional accounting designation required (CA, CMA, CGA or CPA)
- A minimum of 2-3years of large corporation accounting and tax.
- Previous work in a similar industry would be an asset
- CPA in-depth tax course completion or willingness to complete

Knowledge & Experience_**
- Advanced computer proficiency - significant spreadsheet skills
- Experience with online tax research tools, materials.
- Familiarity with different tax software packages including databases and SAP an asset
- Awareness of the tax legislation and accounting principles
- Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly to change
- Excellent oral and written communications skills as well as presentation skills
