Tax Analyst

An exciting opportunity is available with one of our clients for a Senior Tax Analyst for a 12 month contract to join a dynamic tax team and contribute to key compliance and strategic initiatives across Canada, the USA, and the UK. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys tackling complex tax challenges. They are looking for someone with In-Depth Tax and a CPA or in the program.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Tax Analyst are to:
- Prepare monthly GST/HST/PST/QST returns and general ledger reconciliations
- Support tax audits, recovery initiatives, and process improvements
- Ensure accurate self-assessment and POS tax application
- Monitor legislative changes and SOX requirements
- Serve as an internal SME for commodity tax inquiries
- Participate in cross-functional projects and committees
Requirements
- 3+ years of Canadian commodity tax experience
- CPA designation or in-progress (CFE completed accepted)
- Strong GAAP knowledge and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Technical proficiency with Excel and ERP systems; Oracle/Power BI is an asset
- A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for continuous learning
