We’re looking for a dedicated Meat Cutter / Butcher to join our Burnaby team,Someone who can combine expert fabrication skills with warm, consultative customer service. - **Responsibilities**_
- **Inspect Deliveries**: Verify freshness and quality of all incoming meat against our high standards.
- **Fabrication & Portioning**: Break down sides and hinds; bone, trim, portion, and package beef, lamb, pork, and poultry to specification.
- **Custom & Special Orders**: Execute specialty cuts, ground blends, butterflied roasts, and other custom requests with precision.
- **Sanitation & Safety**: Perform end‑of‑day deep‑clean, sanitize tools and equipment, and strictly adhere to CFIA/HACCP protocols.
- **Inventory Management**: Rotate stock, label packages accurately, monitor levels, and notify management of shortages or overages.
- **Team Collaboration**: Assist with merchandising, displays, and other tasks to support smooth deli and wholesale operations.
- **Requirements**_
- **Experience**: 2-3 years as a professional butcher or meat cutter, with proven skill in quality inspection and diverse cutting techniques.
- **Cutting Expertise**: Proficiency in cutting beef, lamb, pork, and poultry, with a keen eye for detail and precision.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Strong knife and machinery skills (bandsaw, slicer).
- **Customer Service**: Excellent face‑to‑face communication; ability to advise customers on cuts, cooking methods, and storage.
- **Attitude & Professionalism**: Positive, respectful, team‑oriented, with a passion for quality food.
- **Certifications**: Valid food‑handling certificate and up‑to‑date knowledge of health and safety regulations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
