Reporting to the Supervisory team, Mountain Safety is responsible for promoting and implementing skier/boarder education practices across the resort. The team will work in conjunction with the Ski Patrol in areas of skier education, and public relations. Mountain Safety will also aid our guests where necessary and maintain a high level of professionalism throughout all activities.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
Provide and maintain a positive presence on hill, while being available to assist resort guests as needed to ensure their experience at the resort. (Way finding, attraction offerings etc.)
Observe guest behaviors and educate accordingly.
Assisting other departments as requested. e.g. Grooming, Snowmaking, Lifts, (but not limited to)
Meeting the operating expectations as they relate to guest experience, safety and effectiveness.
Carries out all responsibilities with the highest level of professionalism.
Complies with all procedures and policies as set out in the Employee Handbook.
Must have the ability to ski/board with unloaded toboggans, bringing them into incident on hill.
Provide reassurance to injured guests, until Ski Patrol arrives, and takes over.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
At least 18 years of age
Strong intermediate skier / snowboarder (able to confidently ski / board all resort terrain)
Strong communications skills
Successful applicants will be required to provide a criminal background check (vulnerable sector)
Outgoing / Friendly
Team Player
Standard first aid with CPR level C

**Volunteer Hours/Expectations**:
Required to complete 16 shifts during the commitment period, (December 20th. - End of March Break
The schedule is pre-determined prior to the beginning of the season with available shifts being, Friday night, Saturday day/night & Sunday day/night for the length of season, Christmas Break, Dec 19-30th Family Day, Feb 20th and March Break, Mar 10-19th
Day’s 11:00am - 4:30 or night’s 4:00 - close (including final sweep)
