**DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Receive and handle emergency telephone calls from governmental and public safety agencies, Resource Protection personnel, BNSF employees and the general public.
- Perform a primary contact function and serve as an information source for Resource Protection as well as other BNSF departments.
- Provide pertinent contact services for BNSF customers.
- Coordinate response to emergencies.
- Supervise contract security officers.
- Monitor physical access to company facilities. Monitor various environmental and fire alarm systems.
- Protects and safeguards company assets and resources including personnel, property and customer's property against criminal activity and terrorism.
- Conduct sensitive corporate and criminal investigations. Provide accurate, detailed reports and testimony when required.
- Maintain good working knowledge of relevant Transport Canada’s legislation, policies and procedures.
- Duty shift assignments may include working nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid Canadian driver’s license.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Must have a minimum of 18 months as an experienced Police Officer from a Category 1 or 2A agency as defined in CPIC policy.
- Must have a basic working knowledge of computers and computer programs.
- Must be physically and psychologically fit, able to successfully pass any required company evaluations, pass an extensive background investigation and any other state commissioning requirements.
- Must have a broad knowledge of criminal law and procedures as well as the Canadian Justice System.
- Must be able to meet any government or Company training and retention standards.
- Must be able to obtain certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
- Must be a current or recently retired Canadian Police Officer from a category 1 or 2A agency as defined in CPIC policy and have the authority to enforce the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Must be willing to assist other BNSF Railway departments to include but not limited to the Trainmaster in Vancouver, BC, Human Resources, General Claims, Cargo Claims, Operations, Transportation, Engineering and Mechanical.
- Must be able to travel to and from the United States.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- College degree preferred
- Bi-lingual in Spanish or French
