As a valued partner to the HR team you will uphold all aspects of Employee Relations (ER) and HR Policies for all key AstraZeneca business units operating in the Canadian multifunctional HUB (Biopharmaceuticals BU, Oncology BU, Alexion and Global). You will work with the HR Business Partners and team to provide appropriate professional advice and business practices that are aligned with policies and legislation. Your role will also maintain and leverage strong connections with the relevant Global HR Centers of Excellence to ensure the AZ way for ER and Policies is consistently executed in Canada in line with global practices.

**The main accountabilities will include**:

- Responsible for the provision of appropriate advice to the Human Resources Business Partners business leaders and to ensure that organizational change is aligned with relevant policies and associated legislation
- Handling all cases reported to HR via AZEthics, as well as entering cases originating outside of AZEthics system
- Leading management of all ER cases that are escalated to this role to a robust conclusion - creating and monitoring Performance Improvement Plans, initiating investigations to ensure consistency, and avoiding precedent-setting outcomes, involving in-house Legal or External Counsel as required, creating written warnings and/or managing involuntary terminations
- Conducting regular policy reviews and updating the suite of HR policies aligned with global policies and local legislation
- Regular reporting and monitoring of ER metrics, building out a repository of ER history and maintaining the records
- Collaborating with internal and external counsel as required
- Escalation person for sensitive exit interviews to ensure accurate diagnosis
- Point person to take over management of disability cases if situation moves towards job impact
- Handling the Conflict of Interest process and communication, liaising with Compliance and Legal partners as required

**To excel in this role you should have**:

- Bachelor's Degree, specialty in Human Resources is an asset
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant Employee Relations/Policy experience with experience in Pharma an asset
- Advanced communication, presentation and project management skills, as well as demonstrated report writing skills
- Strong relationship building and relationship management skills, high integrity orientation
- Demonstrated business acumen, expertise in global corporate professional workforce settings an asset
- Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian legislation and regulations regarding employment topics
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
